Daily Light Devotions - June 4 - Evening
Let us put on the armour of light.
The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires. 1
Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith-- 2
the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: 3
I will greatly rejoice in the LORD; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. 4
With the mighty deeds of the Lord GOD I will come; I will remind them of your righteousness, yours alone. 5
for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, "Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 6
