Daily Light Devotions - October 12 - Morning
God was in Christ, reconciling the world ...
that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 1
For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross. 2
Steadfast love and faithfulness meet; righteousness and peace kiss each other. 3
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. 4
"Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. 5
Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and passing over transgression for the remnant of his inheritance? He does not retain his anger forever, because he delights in steadfast love. 6
"Agree with God, and be at peace; thereby good will come to you. 7
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. 8
O LORD, you will ordain peace for us, for you have indeed done for us all our works. 9
