Daily Light Devotions - October 13 - Evening

Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 1 

Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 2 

So it is not the will of my Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish. 3 

For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; 4 

so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human passions but for the will of God. 5 

Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. 6 

since it is written, "You shall be holy, for I am holy." 7 

And looking about at those who sat around him, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother." 8 

"Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 9 

And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. 10
