His face shone while he talked with him

Daily Light Devotions - October 4 - Morning

... His face shone while he talked with him.

When Moses came down from Mount Sinai, with the two tablets of the testimony in his hand as he came down from the mountain, Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God. 1

Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness! 2

Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 3

Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4

Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." 5

And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light. 6

And gazing at him, all who sat in the council saw that his face was like the face of an angel. 7

The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, 8

And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. 9

"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 10
