I am come that they might have life

Bagster's Daily Light - February 5 - Morning

I am come that they might have life.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. 1

but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." 2

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. 3

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. 4

For if, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ. 5

For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. 6

and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, 7

And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. 8

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 9
