He smote the rock ... and the streams overflowed

Bagster's Daily Light - February 10 - Evening

He smote the rock ... and the streams overflowed.

He struck the rock so that water gushed out and streams overflowed. Can he also give bread or provide meat for his people?" 1

For I want you to know, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, and all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was Christ. 2

But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once there came out blood and water. 3

But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed. 4

yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life. 5

for my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the fountain of living waters, and hewed out cisterns for themselves, broken cisterns that can hold no water. 6

On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. 7

The Spirit and the Bride say, "Come." And let the one who hears say, "Come." And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price. 8
