Be ye holy in all manner of conversation

Daily Light Devotions - August 19 - Morning

... Be ye holy in all manner of conversation.

but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 1 

For you know how, like a father with his children, we exhorted each one of you and encouraged you and charged you to walk in a manner worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and glory. we exhorted each one of you and encouraged you and charged you to walk in a manner worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and glory. 2 

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 3 

for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. 4 

filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. 5

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. 6 

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 7
