Daily Light Devotions - August 15 - Morning
The God of peace ... make you perfect ...
Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. 1
Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. 2
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 3
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. 4
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. 5
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. 6
filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. 7
Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, 8
