Daily Light Devotions - September 23 - Evening
He that overcometh shall inherit all things.
The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son. 1
If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied. 2
But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city. 3
to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 4
So let no one boast in men. For all things are yours, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future-- all are yours, 5
But, as it is written, "What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him"-- these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. 6
Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward. 7
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 8
