The heavens declare the glory of God

Daily Light Devotions - September 28 - Evening

The heavens declare the glory of God ...

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. 1

For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. 2

Yet he did not leave himself without witness, for he did good by giving you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying your hearts with food and gladness." 3

Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. 4

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? 5

There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory. So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable. 6

And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever. 7
