Daily Light Devotions - September 14 - Evening

Ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son.

God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. 1 

For when he received honor and glory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to him by the Majestic Glory, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased," 2 

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 3 

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. 4 

and if children, then heirs-- heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. 5 

He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 6

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. 7 

looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. 8 

But now I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves. 9 

For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. 10
