Daily Light Devotions - September 7 - Morning
Rejoicing is hope.
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. 1
because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. Of this you have heard before in the word of the truth, the gospel, 2
If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied. 3
strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God. 4
Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. 5
that no one be moved by these afflictions. For you yourselves know that we are destined for this. 6
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. 7
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. 8
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, 9
Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 10
