Daily Light Devotions - September 19 - Morning
The God of all grace.
And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. 1
And he said, "I will make all my goodness pass before you and will proclaim before you my name 'The LORD.' And I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. 2
and he is merciful to him, and says, 'Deliver him from going down into the pit; I have found a ransom; 3
and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. 4
For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 5
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 6
To Timothy, my true child in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. 7
But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ's gift. 8
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: 9
But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, "God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble." 10
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. 11
