Daily Light Devotions - September 4 - Morning
Sit still, my daughter.
She replied, "Wait, my daughter, until you learn how the matter turns out, for the man will not rest but will settle the matter today." 1
And say to him, 'Be careful, be quiet, do not fear, and do not let your heart be faint because of these two smoldering stumps of firebrands, at the fierce anger of Rezin and Syria and the son of Remaliah. 2
"Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!" 3
Jesus said to her, "Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?" 4
And the haughtiness of man shall be humbled, and the lofty pride of men shall be brought low, and the LORD alone will be exalted in that day. 5
And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching. but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her." 6
For thus said the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, "In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength." But you were unwilling, 7
Be angry, and do not sin; ponder in your own hearts on your beds, and be silent. Selah 8
Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! 9
He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the LORD. His heart is steady; he will not be afraid, until he looks in triumph on his adversaries. 10
therefore thus says the Lord GOD, "Behold, I am the one who has laid as a foundation in Zion, a stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, of a sure foundation: 'Whoever believes will not be in haste.' 11
