He staggered not at the promise of God

Daily Light Devotions - July 24 - Evening

He staggered not at the promise of God ...

No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, 1

And Jesus answered them, "Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and thrown into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 2

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises was in the act of offering up his only son, of whom it was said, "Through Isaac shall your offspring be named." He considered that God was able even to raise him from the dead, from which, figuratively speaking, he did receive him back. 3

fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. 4

Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you, about this time next year, and Sarah shall have a son." 5

But Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." 6

The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith!" 7
