Daily Light Devotions - July 20 - Morning

They are not of the world ...

They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 1 

He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 2 

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." 3 

For it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens. 4 

that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, 5 

how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. 6 

So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith. 7 

The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. 8 

"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. 9
