Ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests

Daily Light Devotions - July 16 - Morning

Ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests ...

and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words that you shall speak to the people of Israel." 1

And they sang a new song, saying, "Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth." 2

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 3

but you shall be called the priests of the LORD; they shall speak of you as the ministers of our God; you shall eat the wealth of the nations, and in their glory you shall boast. 4

Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years. 5

Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession, 6

Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name. 7

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. 8

If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple. 9
