Daily Light Devotions - July 30 - Evening
Nicodemus ... he that came to Jesus by night.
Nicodemus, who had gone to him before, and who was one of them, said to them, 1
And Peter was following him at a distance, as far as the courtyard of the high priest, and going inside he sat with the guards to see the end. 2
Nevertheless, many even of the authorities believed in him, but for fear of the Pharisees they did not confess it, so that they would not be put out of the synagogue; for they loved the glory that comes from man more than the glory that comes from God. 3
The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is safe. 4
All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. 5
a bruised reed he will not break, and a faintly burning wick he will not quench; he will faithfully bring forth justice. 6
He said to them, "Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you." 7
for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, 8
And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming. 9
So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, 10
