Who redeemeth thy life from destruction.

who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, 1

Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name. He will surely plead their cause, that he may give rest to the earth, but unrest to the inhabitants of Babylon. 2

Shall I ransom them from the power of Sheol? Shall I redeem them from Death? O Death, where are your plagues? O Sheol, where is your sting? Compassion is hidden from my eyes. 3

Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery. 4

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. 5

For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. 6

when he comes on that day to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed. 7
