Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee

Bagster's Daily Light - January 9 - Morning

Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee.

You have set up a banner for those who fear you, that they may flee to it from the bow. Selah 1

And Moses built an altar and called the name of it, The LORD Is My Banner, 2

So they shall fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun; for he will come like a rushing stream, which the wind of the LORD drives. 3

May we shout for joy over your salvation, and in the name of our God set up our banners! May the LORD fulfill all your petitions! 4

The LORD has brought about our vindication; come, let us declare in Zion the work of the LORD our God. 5

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 6

Then Saul said to David, "Here is my elder daughter Merab. I will give her to you for a wife. Only be valiant for me and fight the LORD's battles." For Saul thought, "Let not my hand be against him, but let the hand of the Philistines be against him." 11

Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, declares the LORD. Be strong, O Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land, declares the LORD. Work, for I am with you, declares the LORD of hosts, according to the covenant that I made with you when you came out of Egypt. My Spirit remains in your midst. Fear not. 12

Do you not say, 'There are yet four months, then comes the harvest'? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. 13

For, "Yet a little while, and the coming one will come and will not delay; 14
