God is faithful

Daily Light Devotions - March 27 - Evening

God is faithful.

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1

God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? 2

And it was not without an oath. For those who formerly became priests were made such without an oath, 3

So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us. 4

Therefore let those who suffer according to God's will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good. 5

which is why I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that Day what has been entrusted to me. 6

He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it. 7

For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory. 8
