Riches are not for ever ...
for riches do not last forever; and does a crown endure to all generations? 1
Surely a man goes about as a shadow! Surely for nothing they are in turmoil; man heaps up wealth and does not know who will gather! 2
Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. 3
"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 4
Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. 5
as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. 6
The wicked earns deceptive wages, but one who sows righteousness gets a sure reward. 7
Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing. 8
And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. 9
