Daily Light Devotions - March 20 - Evening
Noah was a just man.
These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God. 1
Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for "The righteous shall live by faith." 2
Then Noah built an altar to the LORD and took some of every clean animal and some of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And when the LORD smelled the pleasing aroma, the LORD said in his heart, "I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the intention of man's heart is evil from his youth. Neither will I ever again strike down every living creature as I have done. 3
and all who dwell on earth will worship it, everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain. 4
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 5
For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it-- the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: 6
More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. 7
Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. 8
