Daily Light Devotions - April 27 - Morning
Brethren, the time is short.
This is what I mean, brothers: the appointed time has grown very short. From now on, let those who have wives live as though they had none, 1
"Man who is born of a woman is few of days and full of trouble. He comes out like a flower and withers; he flees like a shadow and continues not. 2
And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. 3
For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory." 4
For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's. 5
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 6
Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. For, "Yet a little while, and the coming one will come and will not delay; 7
The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. 8
The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers. 9
