That blessed hope ...

waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 1

We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. 2

whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago. 3

when he comes on that day to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed. 4

For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. 5

Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. 6

When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. 7

He who testifies to these things says, "Surely I am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! 8
