Daily Light Devotions - April 24 - Evening
The eyes of all wait upon thee.
The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food in due season. 1
nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything. 2
The LORD is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made. 3
Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 4
For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. 5
A Song of Ascents. I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? 6
Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maidservant to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the LORD our God, till he has mercy upon us. 7
Therefore the LORD waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him. 8
It will be said on that day, "Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him, that he might save us. This is the LORD; we have waited for him; let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation." 9
But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. 10
