I am the door of the sheep

Daily Light Devotions - April 19 - Morning

I am the door of the sheep.

So Jesus again said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 1

And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split. 2

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, 3

By this the Holy Spirit indicates that the way into the holy places is not yet opened as long as the first section is still standing 4

I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. 5

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 6

For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 7

Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, 8

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 9
